Thiru.Sakkarai, Villupuram City Secretary, DMK was arrested on 1st April for his unruly act of pelting stones at RSS Villupuram District Office ‘Maadhavam’ Samarpana Seva Maiyyam on 7th March, 2018. Statue Politics triggered attacks at various parts of Tamilnadu.
Following statue of Lenin vandalized at Tripura, TN BJP Leader tweeted a controversial remarks on Periyar stating, “Periyar statues would be the next after a Lenin statue was pulled down in Tripura”... on which state witnessed some attacks on Periyar statues, RSS-BJP Office buildings. In one such incident, RSS Villupuram District Office ‘Maadhavam’ Samarpana Seva Maiyyam was attacked by miscreants on 7th March, 2018. City Secretary of RSS Villupuram District and one of the Trustee of 'Samarpana Seva Maiyyam' Shri Suryanarayanan filed a complaint with police. Police accepted the petition filed and investigated the case. On 1st April, Police arrested Sakkarai, City Secretary, DMK, later released him on bail.
