RSS Pathasanchalan in Sholavaram, Chennai

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ( RSS ) Chennai took out on a grand Patha Sanchalan ( Route march) in Solavaram on Sunday, to commemorate the 93rd year of its founding and also the 125th year of Swami Vivekananda’s iconic Chicago address.

Swayamsevaks from Tiruvottriyur, Perambur & Ambattur districts of the organisation participated in the Patha Sanchalan and marched for a stretch of 3.5 KMs. A total of about 909  Swayamsevaks in ganavesh( RSS uniform ) took part in the programme, which also had many other people in attendance.

A book with excerpts on RSS Sarsangachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat’s three day lecture series ‘Future of Bharat: An RSS Perspective’ conducted in the capital in September was formally released by Prof Subbiah, Saha Sangachalak of RSS Chennai Mahanagar.

Shri. Vivekanandan, Prant Saha Boudhik Pramukh of RSS delivered the special address. He highlighted that inspite of the many foreign invasions the country saw in the past, it has overcome all of it due to the unity of the Hindu society. He stressed that in a country like India with its rich diversity, there couldn’t be a more unifying factor for its people than the ‘Hindu’ identity of them.

He also touched upon how certain separatist forces have been operating today with a motive to create divide among the society. He cited the ‘Aryan- Dravidian divide’ theory which had been outrightly rejected by Dr. Ambedkar itself, the divide being played over caste and the happenings at JNU among others.
He also stressed that good values and tales need to be taught to small children to deflect them from the addiction of mobile and other gadgets, and highlighted how a separate department called ‘Kudumba Pradbodhan’ functions in the Sangh to imbibe family values.

He also called upon the Swayamsevaks to work harder and reach out the Sangh to people unaware of the organisation and spread its wings to more areas.

The Chennai Mahanagar Karyawah Shri Raghavan was also present during the programme.
