Educational help to the needy, enthusiastic young college and school girls through the service minded trusts reached the middle class families in Chennai on 17th March, 2018. A function was organized by Dr.Hedgewar Smarak Samiti at ‘Sakthi Karyalaya’ along with ‘Bharati Seva Sangam’, Smt Annamaal Vivekananda Public Charitable Trust, Jana Seva Trust, Madhava Seva Samiti, Samooga Seva Samiti, Tamilnadu, Kesava Seva Sangam, Dr. Hedgewar Shatabdhi Smarak Samiti.
It all started ten years back when the sons of the retired railway official entrusting 'Dr.Hedgewar Smarak Samiti' an RSS affiliate with the task of selecting needy candidates. The family of the railway official had deposited a tidy sum, being the retirement benefits of the official with the trust for this purpose. For the last two years a family each added its own mite to this charity.
Shri N Muthuraman, Co-founder and Director, Swarajya Magazine presided and addressed the gathering. Shri S Raja, Executive Member, Dr. Hedgewar Smarak Samiti motivated to ‘Be and Make’ the society strengthened. He appealed to set a role-model in society, and contribute to society. Seva Nidhi is collected through door-to-door campaign reaching 25000 houses of Uttar Tamilnadu. Around 158 college and school students received the scholarship. Shri M K R Mohan Ji, Prant Pramuk (Kudumba Prabodhan) thanked the audience. Shri Chandrasekar, Chennai Mahanagar Sanghachalak and other Sangh Adhikaris were present.
