Educate our own people on national issues, ABVP

A seminar on ‘Real Facts of JNU Issues’ was organized by ABVP in Chennai today.  ABVP volunteers initially gave a paper presentation on Nationalism and anti-nationalism.  Shri Nambi Narayanan, presented a description on how the facts are distorted and the role of media from the main issue and misleading the public.  Shri Karthikeyan, Advocate extensively spoke on the undemocratic, biased nature of Communists dividing our country and targeting culture, family etc.

Shri ABVP Lakshmanan, National Joint Organizing Secretary gave a detailed description on ‘What happened in JNU’. A group of students openly called for ‘breaking India’, ‘destroying India’ challenging the country’s judicial system for hanging the terrorist which lead to a big national outrage and reactions.  It all began when the first JNUSU Council meeting was held on 22nd September, 2015, wherein ABVP proposed a resolution, “Kashmir is an integral part of India” and sadly the proposed resolution was not passed like many other resolutions.  On 8th February, 2016, a poster calling for a ‘Shahadat Diwas’ couched as a ‘cultural evening’ to glorify the terrorists Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru was organized. ABVP registered its reservations against the move with Vice Chancellor. It was learnt that the organizers had taken permission for the programme as ‘cultural program’.  After knowing the intention of the cultural evening, VC cancelled the permission.  Crowd from outside began to swell and began anti-India sloganeering.  Further undemocratic repeated sloganeering fuelled in the name of free speech sent shock waves across the country.  One could clearly find the big conspiracy going around by the unwanted issues like Dadri, Rohit Vemula, JNU etc raised by the forces breaking the unity of our country.  Digging at the controversy raised on the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ Shri Lakshmanan strongly condemned the attitude and said, “Anybody having a little bit of love towards this Motherland will at-least keep Mum, if they don’t want to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’”.
He appealed the gathering to educate our own people on the national issues to safeguard our Nation.
The gathering concluded by singing national anthem.
