Three
day (18-20 February) congregation of Spiritual Gurus was organized during
Dakshin Bharat Kumbh Mela at Vittal Rukmini Samasthanam, Dakshina Pandaripuram,
Govindapuram, Kumbakonam. Around 1000 Spiritual gurus
congregated in the Mahamaham Conference.
The Conference was inaugurated by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, (Founder, Art of
Living). Emphasizing on Bhakti movement
where Tamilnadu is the birthplace, he said that only spiritual leaders could
save our nation’s heritage and culture. Bhakthi unites society irrespective any
caste or creed.
Ambalavana
Desiga Paramacharya Swamigal of Thiruvavaduthurai Mutt hoisted the flag and
presided over the Conference.
Sri
Ramagopalan, Hindu Munnani condemned the district administration for not
allowing Annadhaanam inside the town during Mahamamam and claimed that there is
a need to create a Hindu Vote Bank.
Shri
Champat Rai ji, VHP International General Secretary who spoke on the occasion
said that our country leads the world spiritually. It is the duty of our Saints to create
awareness among society and protect our nation culturally.
