Rajya Sabha M.P Tarun Vijay Pledges Rs. 70 Lakhs to Tamilanadu Flood Relief Works

Rajya Sabha M.P Tarun Vijay today visited SevaBharathi Tamilnadus Headquarters, announced Rs 20 Lakhs to SevaBharathi from his M.P Relief Fund while appreciating their tremendous relief work during the recent Chennai Floods. 

While speaking on the occasion, Tarun Vijay said, I salute people of Chennai for they rose to the occasion by coming together forgetting all their differences. They created the anthem of togetherness during the disaster. Chennai has shown to the nation their true idea and has inspired not only the entire nation but also the world.
Further he said,There are so many organisations that worked for the relief and restoration of Chennai unitedly showing no discrimination. While  I appreciate every such organisation, I hail the activities of SevaBharathi with pride

It is to be noted that Tarun Vijay was the first M.P to talk about the Chennai Floods in the Rajya Sabha and he was appreciated by the Rajya Sabha Chairman for the same. He was also the first M.P to have donated Rs 50 Lakhs from his M.P Fund towards the Chennai Relief Works. 


Since Tarun Vijay has already pledged Rs 50 Lakhs to the TN Government, today he presented Rs10 Lakhs to SevaBharathi towards Rehabilitation work and another Rs 10 Lakhs to facilitate a special service cell within the SevaBharathis new premises.
SevaBharathi Tamilnadus State President Durai Shankar, State General Secretary Rajesh Vivekanandan and State Treasurer Prema Mohan were present in the dais along with State Convenor Rama Rajasekar.
