Sevabharathi honours Army for their service in Chennai Floods - ‘வெற்றித் திருநாள்’

Seva Bharati, which became a household name in Chennai and other flood hit districts during the past week by its systematic rescue-relief-rehabilitation work, honoured men of the Armed Forces on this historic ‘Victory Day’ (Vijay Diwas).  It organized Victory Day and felicitation function in Chennai.  The idea was to honour brave jawans for their famous victory in 1971 as well as their successful rescue work in flood hit Chennai and other districts last week.

Col D Pratip Kumar, in his address amazed towards the contribution of each Chennaite to the Chennai Floods. He said that the Chennai had laid the benchmark of social responsibility which Nation has to follow. 

Lt. Col. A Raja Pillai described on the activities of the Army role in Chennai Floods.  He said that the army is credited with rescuing around 19,500 persons in all from the devastating floods; distributing 2,00,000 food packets and relief materials.  Four medical teams were also set up and extended medical help to the public. 

December 16 marks a historic victory scored by brave Indian Army jawans and Officers in 1971, when Pakistan was brought to its knees and East Pakistan became Bangladesh.  An unprecedented 93,000 Pakistan soldiers were captured by the victorious Indian Army as POWs, he pointed out.

 Swami Vimurthaananda Maharaj blessed the gathering.  Shri K Suryanarayana Rao, Senior RSS leader gave away the shield to the Army Officers present there.

Smt. Subhashree Shriram, Head, Shriram City Union Finance Ltd. Chennai appreciated the role of Army during Chennai Floods.

Sevabharathi Tamilnadu during recent floods have sprung into action from day one ie. Dec.1^st and more than 5500 Sevabharathi volunteers were serving the affected areas with devotion and dedication.  Food were distributed to 21 lakh people in 118 relief centres; family kit was distributed with nearly 20 essential items to 63000 families.  Around 133 medical camps were conducted so far with 160 Doctors benefitting 23000 people so far. 

Saving thousands of lives was top priority.  Even apple carts, temporary rafts with empty barrels tied together was used and with whatever means available our volunteers have saved more than 1350 men and women.

சென்னையில் டிசம்பர் 16 அன்று சேவாபாரதி ‘வெற்றித் திருநாள்’ விழா நடத்தி பாரத ராணுவத்தைப் பாரட்டியது.

விழாவில் பங்கு கொண்ட கர்னல் ப்ரதீப் குமார் சென்னை வெள்ளதில்,  ஒவ்வொரு நகரவாசியும் தன்னுடைய பங்கை சிறப்பாக செய்ததை கவனத்தில் கொண்டு வந்தார்.  சென்னை மக்களின் ஒடோடி வந்து உதவி செய்யும் மனப்பான்மை நம் நாட்டிற்கே முன்னுதாரணம் என்று கூறினார்.  மேலும், பலர் விடுமுறை எடுத்து, கட்டுபாடாக சேவை பணியில் ஈடுப்பட்டது பாரட்டுதலுக்குரியது. 

Lt. Col. திரு ராஜா பிள்ளை அவர்கள் இந்திய ராணுவத்தினரின் இணையற்ற வீரத்திற்கு அடையாளமாக 1971 டிசம்பர் 16 அன்று பாரத வீரர்கள் பாகிஸ்தானை மண்டியிட வைத்து 93,000 பாக் வீரர்களைப் போர்கைதிகளாகப் பிடித்து அபார வெற்றியை நினைவு கூர்ந்தார். எனவே நாடு நெடுக டிசம்பர் 16 ஐ வெற்றித் திருநாளாக கொண்டாடும் மரபு தொடங்கியது.

சென்னையிலும் பல மாவட்டங்களிலும் வெள்ள நிவாரணத்தில் களம் இறங்கிய பாரத ராணுவத்தினர் 19500 மக்களை மீட்பதில் அபார வெற்றி பெற்று மக்கள் மனதில் இடம் பிடித்திருந்தார்கள். 

விழா நடத்திய சேவா பாரதியும் தனது 5500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட (ஆண்-பெண்) தொண்டர்களைக் களமிறக்கி மீட்பு-நிவாரண-மறுவாழ்வுப் பணியை கச்சிதமாக திட்டமிட்டு நிறைவேற்றி மக்கள் மனதில் இடம் பிடித்திருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

திருமதி சுப ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீராம், செயல் இயக்குனர் மற்றும் முதன்மை நிதி அதிகாரி, ஸ்ரீராம் சிட்டி யூனியன் ஃபைனான்ஸ் லிட்., சென்னை ராணுவத்தின் பங்கை பாராட்டினார்.  ஸ்வாமி விமுர்த்தானந்த மகராஜ் ஆசியுரை வழங்கினார்.
