One lakh volunteers to participate in Shiv Shakti Sangam



Stage Set for Shiv-Shakti Sangam, More than one lakh volunteers to participate in program
Pune (VSK). The stage has been set as the preparations for the Shiv-Shakti Sangam organized by Western Maharashtra Prant of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh have been completed and more than 1.20 lakh swayamsevaks are expected to participate in it. Vinayakrao Thorat karyavah of Western Maharashtra Prant of RSS along with Thorat, Nanasaheb Jadhav Prant Sanghchalak, Dilip Kshirsagar Prant Prachar pramukh, Kailash Sontakke general manager of Shiv-Shakti Sangam were present in the press conference, held to give information about the preparations of the gathering.
The preparations are on for the Shiv-Shakti Sangam, to be held on the confluence of three villages namely Nere, Jambhe and Marunji on Sunday January 3, 2016, since last six months and everything is ready now. The volunteers coming from all over the province will reach at the venue of the program by 12 PM while the main program for the citizens will take place at 3:30 PM and will conclude at 6:30 PM. In view of the grandness of the program, the citizens are requested to take their seats by 3 PM.
A total of 1 lakh 58 thousand 778 volunteers have registered till now from the divisions of Pune, Pune Mahanagar, Nashik and Kolhapur for this grand gathering. The volunteers and citizens responded heavily. A civil registration campaign organized on 29 November 2015 through select areas and door-to-door drew huge response. The Pune city alone has witnessed 44,381 registrations. (This number is higher than the one registered from all over Maharashtra, excluding Vidarbha, at Taljai in 1983).
The volunteers who have registered themselves will remain present in full uniform. Sarsanghchalak Mohan Ji Bhagwat, will speak before the volunteers gathered at this occasion, while presence of Sarkaryavah Bhaiyya Ji Joshi, will be another highlight. The program will be provided with stringent security arrangements and the roads for volunteers coming from outstation, Pune city and district have been earmarked so as not to cause traffic jam.
Environment protection and conservation have been given utmost consideration in the planning of the event. The measures in this regard include using beetle-nut leaves for dishes, pits for sewage management etc. More than 20 organizations have contributed to the successful organization of the event and they have provided excellent quality services for it. As such, the executive of Western Maharashtra Prant RSS and the organizing committee have appealed to all citizens to take part in this program.
In a first, the program will have the presence of foreign media as the overseas media outlets had requested for the coverage and for the permission to remain present. They will be permitted to cover the event which is unprecedented. This shows that even foreign media is taking note of the program as well as RSS’ work.
Various dignitaries who have registered for the participation include Maharashtra Bhushan Babasaheb Purandare, veteran author D. M. Mirasdar, grand grandsons of Mahatma Phule Chandrashekhar, Nitin and Datta Phule, descendant of Hambirrao Mohite of Satara Jayajirao Mohite, industrialist from Sangamner Sanjay Malpani, former state president of Patit Pavan Saghatana Sopanrao (S.Z.) Deshmukh etc. Also, Lakshman Dinkar, a resident of Padmavati, has also registered for participation with full uniform at the age of 102 years.
