Seva Bharati annual training camp concluded with an
impressive public function held at Korattur Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Chennai on
26th May 2014. The trainees demonstrated various physical
activities like Yoga, Kollattam, bhajans, games, vyayam etc.
Smt. Jayalakshmi, Sri Sai Sundar, Sri H S Govinda, and Sri
Durai Shankar
.
Sri Sai
Sundar, an industrialist presided over the function. In his address he
emphasized on the collective strength which is bigger than the individual
strength.
Sri Govinda HS, Kshetra Pracharak Pramuk gave emphasis on
the seva attitude and why
a healthy society is required? He explained what constitutes a seva, namely the
extra consideration that a person has towards helping others, does not
necessarily mean sacrificing everything that one has. Seva should not be driven
by pity but should be viewed as a duty instead. When it is viewed so, Seva is
natural, the duty will not be a burden. He explained this using the analogy of
eating food. When we have a problem in some part of our body, we don’t eat to
obliterate the pain in that part but to help the body as a whole. Similarly, we
must do seva in the hope that it will target the deprived parts of the society
as well.
Around 74 trainees attended the camp.
Sri Durai Shankar, Pranth Seva Secretary in the chair. Smt Jayalakshmi, Secretary welcomed the
gathering and Smt. Prema Mohan delivered a vote of thanks.
