India has not learnt its lessons from 1962 China war

'China is rail-linking Arunachal border to ensure arms supply'
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said the Government of India has not learnt from its mistakes during the 1962 Sino-Indian war.

Speaking at the passing out parade (samarop) of Sangh Shiksha Varg cadres here, he referred to the 1962 war and said, "at that time we were unprepared and today the situation is no different."

Bhagwat said that China was laying railway lines close to its border with Arunachal Pradesh to ensure the supply of arms to its forces. He also said this happened while Indian forces still depend on mules to reach the difficult terrain.

"In 1962, when the fully equipped Chinese soldiers climbed the Himalayas, in that chilled weather our government did not provide any warm clothes to our army because they were under the impression that peace prevails in the whole world, and as there is no use of army, they should be sent to the textile factory," said Bhagwat.

"We are still unprepared and haven't learnt from the mistakes made in 1962," he added.

Talking about the Maoists issue, Bhagwat said the Maoists want to come into power by threatening the Government.

On caste census he said, the demand for OBC count is being raised to help political parties' vote bank interests.

The RSS chief alleged that there was an influx of illegal migrants into the north-eastern states and said there was no way to identify them during the ongoing census.

  1. Please note :
Shri Mohanji is Sarsanghchalak of RSS, and not Sarkaryawah, as you mentioned in the first line. Please make appropriate changes.
