The Anti Hindu DMK’s Pathetic Posturings

Eyebrows were raised when DMK chief M.K. Stalin came out with the statement that it those responsible for sacrilege of three Ganesh temples in Coimbatore city on July 18 should be brought to book, even before any Hindu organisation  could reach media houses with its  criticism of the vandalism.  The surprise  was not without reason. The same DMK chief had hurriedly deleted Ganesh Chaturthi greetings in his name from his social media account last season.  Stalin was seen  spitting Venom on Hindus from a Muslim platform by denigrating Hindu Vivah Mantras.
More. Last week, an atheist  gang calling itself Karuuppar Koottam posted on Youtube a video vilifying Tamil hymn Kandha Sashti Kavacham  on Lord Kartikeya that crores of Tamil Hindus recite on a daily basis. It evoked unprecedented scathing reaction from all sections of Hindu society including Sanyasis belonging to several Hindu denominations. DMK was berated as the hand behind the gang. The Tamil hashtag score of the Hindu protest crossed a lakh  within a few hours. Definitely, DMK was in the dock.
R.S. Bharathi, the DMK’s legal brain, had to rush to the media  distancing his party from the offending gang.  The DMK man claimed that the party is not anti Hindu and informed that 1 crore members of the party are Hindus — much to the amusement of onlookers (Stalin’s father Karunanidhi had proclaimed from the rooftop that the meaning of the word Hindu is thief in Arabic!). So, the usually anti Hindu DMK has ample reasons to be jittery and has to do something so that its image gets a makeover in the eyes of the Tamil public.
That may explain the haste with which Stalin came out with such a statement on the Coimbatore temple sacrileges. But, will all this be enough to erase the earlier anti Hindu image of DMK from public memory. Certainly not. Whether it is the office of the Chief Secretary at the Secretariat or the roadside paratta shop, biggys and minions of DMK have made a mark of their unruly, at times rude, behaviour. A crime scene on the outskirts of Chennai revealed the high handedness of a DMK functionary in laying his hands on a Temple property. Thanks to the sustained exposure in the social media, the real face of DMK is fresh in the minds of the public.
