Thol Tirumavalavan ,MP of Chidambaram recently hurled abuses at Hindu Temples. He said, A tomb like structure is mosque, a triangular structure is church,a structure with erotic idols is temple. The controversial speech was condemned by Hindus of all genre online and offline. Around 250 cases were filed against the MP many under Sedition sections and it is against the oath taken as Member of parliament. He also faced severe backlashes in his Twitter account and Facebook page. Cornered in all directions the MP gave an apology speech in a live video for hurting Hindu sentiments.Similar was the action seen in the Tiruvalluvar clad in saffron with vibhuti in forehead. While Dravidar KAzhagam cadre and Leftist cadre argued that safrrosnisation has started in the state, Hindus came out with pictures of Tiruvalluvar with typical Hindu symbols painted before the DMK's rise in the state and thus silenced the opposition.In both the cases, it is to be noted that voices for Hindu support and polarisation is evident from non-organizational Hindu common men. Thus mainland Hindus could send across a strong message of inspiration to Malaysia's Hindus who thwarted an attempt by DK's K.Veeramani (a usual Hindu baiter) to spit venom in that Muslim nation at a function organised by Indian high commission there.The fuction was cancelled following protests by Hindus there.

On Hindu Temple Issue HC Censures State Government
Continual struggle by the Hindus over decades to safeguard the interests of state-held Hindu temples seems to bear fruit even as the government was censured by the High Court last week. Here is why: Without having the details or statistics of encroachments of land owned by 38,000 temples under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department, Tamil Nadu state government has decided to grant patta for eligible poor families residing on temple lands for a considerable period of time. This is a travesty of trust reposed on temple administration by donors over centuries. The Madras High Court on November 18, took to task the government and reserved its order on an appeal for interim stay against the implementation of a government order (GO) of August 30 regularising encroachments of temple lands across Tamil Nadu. A Division Bench of Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee said it would first pass orders on the miscellaneous petition seeking the stay against the order and then decide on the main petition. The bench was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) of A Radhakrishnan challenging the state government decision to issue patta to encroachers of temple lands. In September last, while admitting the plea, the bench censured the state for passing such an order and wondered what signal the state was trying to send when such encroachments were already rampant. The climax came when the HC ordered the government to collect details of Hindu temple landed properties first – incidentally, the government does not have it now.
