Spirit goes on and on at Sakthi Sangamam, Chennai


RSS Chennai organized an informal get-together of families of RSS swayamsevaks at ‘Sakthi Karyalaya’ on 5.2.2017. Around 1587 men, women and children from 671 families had a chit-chat with Akhila Bharatha, Prantha/Kshetra Adhikaris. 
 


Colourful Rangolis within the Karyalaya and outside gave a pleasant festive look. A prominent display and pushpanjali to Ramanujar Ratham to mark its millennium year is the highlight of this year. 

Traditional games like pallankuzhi, paramapadam, ammanai etc. kindled the enthusiasm among visitors. Ayurveda and Patti Vaidhiyam (traditional medical advice) had a great impact among the visitors.

Shri Subramanya Bhatt, Akhila Bharathiya Kudumba Prabodhan Pramuk lit the lamp and inaugurated the event. Pushpanjali were rendered to the ‘kolu’ (display) of freedom fighters and to Maa Suryanarayana Rao. Shri Sethumadhavan, (Akhil Bharathiya Dharma Jagran Pramuk), Shri Pa Ra Krishnamurthy (Akhil Bharatiya Pramuk – Samskar Bharti), Shri Sthanumaalayan (Kshetra Pracharak), Shri U Sundar (Vidya Bharati), Shri Ramagopalan, Hindu Munnani and Prant Adhikaris were present. 
 




Display and demo by young students on the concept of Hinduism and Science was well received by the visitors. Games to youth like ‘Uri Adhithal’ attracted many. Young girls drew rangoli and displayed their talent. Quiz kindled the forgotten facts. Within 10 minutes, one is made aware of and speak small sentence in Samskritam by Samskrita Bharati Karyakarthas. A power-point presentation on less cash economy drive attracted many swayamsevaks. Music, Bhajans made the environment pleasant. Chit-Chat with adhikaris made the day memorable. Some families brought their eatables and distributed it to swayamsevaks. A common arrangement was also made for the dinner and a ‘traditional thamboola bag’ for the families leaving karyalaya. 

At the end of the program, Swami Swatmananda, Vellimalai Ashram who was the chief guest, appealed swayamsevaks to keep meeting each other and get motivated. Shri Subramanya Bhat insisting on the practice of family values, highlighted the importance of Bharatiya Bashas to be practiced at home and society.

With Sangh Prarthana, the program ended.
