Ultimate Spiritual pilgrimage to Kailash is a dream of millions of Hindus (including Jains and Buddhists) in their life. A new second route via Nathu la (Sikkim) had been successfully opened by our Prime Minister Modi. This route makes the senior citizens and those who can’t undertake the arduous trekking to undertake the yatra by vehicles. The Uttarakhand route takes 28 days and Nathu La route takes 21 days and the average expenses on both routes are 1.6 lakh and 2 lakh respectively per pilgrim.
Addressing a Press Meet in Chennai, he said that the Kailas Yatris who have undertaken this yatra before, have come together and are trying to encourage more and more pilgrims to undertake this world's most ancient pilgrimage ( it finds mention in Mahabharata) and the indescribably beautiful divine experience. The new twitter handle-@KailasManas2017 has been created for answering all enquiries and they are propagating the Ministry of External Affairs' website for this pilgrimage www.kmy.gov.in for authentic details. Presently just a thousand yards-tris go from both routes in a year, why can’t we increase it to five thousand next year and twenty thousand later? He asked and said with due encouragement and facilities this is not a difficult goal.
He said that Shiva being the first President of Tamil Sangam at Madurai and ages later Thiruvalluvar presented the Thirukural to Tamil Sangam at Madurai - hence the beautiful spiritual connect makes him to try this year to have the Thirukural chanting on the shores of Lake Mansarovar , which will be a global event and first time in the history. Appealing the Tamilnadu government to sponsor 133 Tamil youths to represent 133 chapters of Thirukural to go to Kailas Mansarovar and chant Thirukural before the divine presence of Shiva, he asserts that this could create an incredible confluence of two great icons of Tamil Sangam in the holy region. A novel work of translating Thirukural into Tibetan language is underway that helps pilgrims going on pilgrimage can distribute Thirukural to Tibetan friends.
He appealed Tamilnadu Government to form a state level Kailas Mansarovar Yatra Committee and encourage more harris from Tamilnadu by announcing yatra financial help to them like other state governments as well as construct a Kailas Mansarovar Bhawan in Chennai for the facilitation of yatris.
