Nationalists, literary intellects come together at Thiruvalluvar Day Celebrations in Chennai



Eminent Tamizh Scholars Thiru Ooran Adigalar, President, Samarasa Sanmarga Araichi Nilayam, Dr. Ma Ve Pasupathi, Tamizh Poet and Dr. Kalanithi, Desiya Chinthanai Kazhagam spoke in one voice emphasizing the need to bring out facts of Indian Scientific tradition enshrined in both Tamizh and Samskrit texts.  They were deliberating at the 'Thiruvalluvar Day' function organized jointly by Samskrita Bharati and Desiya Chinthanai Kazhagam.   
Dr. Kalanithi, in particular, called for ancient Indian discoveries in the field of astronomy while Thiru OoranAdigal came out with a little known fact that Ramalinga Swamigal (Vallalar) had started a Patashala to spread Tamizh, Samskrit and English 150 years ago in Vadalur, Cuddalore District.  

Dr. Ma Ve Pasupathi emphasized the need to bring national oneness with an emphasis on linguistic variety.
Dr.R Ramachandran, Vice President, Samskrita Bharati welcomed the gathering. Pongal special issue 'Kandeepam' a literary quarterly was released on the occasion.  Shri Ma Ko Chi Rajendran, Organizer, Desiya Chinthanai Kazhagam thanked the audience.
