Thoughts should be exchanged, Kaviko Abdul Rahman at a Samskrita Bharati function

‘Thiruvalluvar Day’ – a function was organized by Samskrita Bharati in Chennai to pay tributes to Janma dinam of Swami Vivekananda and Thiruvalluvar today.

Kaviko S Abdul Rahman, a Sahithya Academi Award winner, presided over the function.  Speaking on the occasion—being the Nakshtra Birth Day of Swami Vivekananda and ‘Thiruvallur Day’ followed by the Government—he said that God does not discriminate human beings; variety is God’s Gift.  It is we the human beings dwelt over ignorance, innocence, misunderstanding, failed to exchange the thoughts between various religions, linguistics, literature etc.  He further stated that the views and similarities found in - both Swami Vivekananda and Thiruvalluvar especially in Education, Knowledge and life should be taken to the society.

Shri L Ganesan, BJP leader who spoke on the occasion said that celebrating the day of the great two monks is itself a great service.  Thoughts of these two personalities must be practiced in day to day life.  Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue both guarding our nation in Indian Ocean is a symbol of nationalism with Swami Vivekananda, a Patriotic Monk and Thiruvalluvar a Divine Poet, he said.
Shri Ramachandran, Samskrita Bharati, Secretary gave a brief description on the similarities of Tamil and Samskrit literature.
