Today is birthday of
noted Indian Scientist Satyendra Nath Bose (01.01.1894). A student of Jagdish
Chandra Bose, he went on to work closely with Albert Einstein & Marie
Curie. Albert Einstein translated some of his articles in German &
published. Bose-Einstein Statistics & Bose-Einstein Condensate are
pathbreaking Quantum theories, which paved way for discovery of "God
Particle" in 2012. Sub-atomic particle Boson was named after SN Bose.
Today many scientists
seem amused at the way the discovery of the Higgs Boson which has triggered the
discussion about Bose’s role in discovering Boson. The name and fame of S N Bose will live on in
the annals of science ever.
