Felicitation to Meghalaya Governor Shri Shanmuganathan in Chennai




The Committee of Hosts felicitated His Excellency Shri V Shanmuganathan Ji, Governor of Meghalaya in the presence of His Excellency Shri Rosaiah, Governor of Tamilnadu at TAG Auditorium, Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram Complex, Chennai.  Shri Sabharathiram, Chairman, Bharati Vidya Bhavan presided over the meeting.  Shri Gautamananda Maharaj Ji, President Ramakrishna Mutt, Chennai, blessed the gathering.  He highlighted the services of Ramakrishna Mutt Schools at Meghalaya and blessed the Governor will take the moral values to the tribal people of Meghalaya and bring them into mainstream.  


Shri Suriyanarayana Rao, RSS Senior leader expressed his memories and association with the Governor for more than 4 decades. He further said that Shri Shanmuganathan, a devotee of God, will be successful in bringing the State of Meghalaya towards ‘One Nation, one culture and one law’. 
Shri Ramagopalan, founder Hindu Munnani who was also working together in the past said that the Organisation and Shri Shanmuganathan go together.  He further lauded him as an apt person to serve in Meghalaya. 
His Excellency Shri Rosaiah, Governor of Tamilnadu in his speech, said that in the country which is a democratic oasis, winning and winner spirit is there with Shri Shanmuganathan that would channelize the youth in building nationalistic fervor and bringing Centre-State relations. 
Shri Shanmuganathan, in his address, shared his journey from childhood till he became a Governor.  Last hours of association with Dr. Kalam at Meghalaya was so deep and attached that cannot be forgotten. Meghalaya, a state where matrilineal social system is followed, where women being the centre of the society, he said he wish to serve in the small state of Meghalaya in bringing a State without any difference among society with patriotic fervor in them. 
Shri H Raja and Smt Tamilisai Soundararajan addressed the gathering.
The programme ended with the national anthem.
