Three pastors from Shalom Mission were badly beaten up in Delhi and have alleged that they were assaulted by RSS cadre. A press release is hereunder:
PRESS RELEASE
It has come to
our notice that a mischievous SMS has been sent to the media persons alleging
that three pastors from Shalom Mission were beaten up by RSS in Nihal Vihar,
Delhi yesterday evening. It has also come to our notice that some elements have
also demonstrated before the concerned police station.
We wish to make
it clear that the allegations are absolutely incorrect. The RSS asserts that it
has no connection with the alleged incident. We reiterate that freedom of
expression is basic to the Indian ethos and culture and it does not believe in
violence as a means to sort out any issue.
We understand
that this is a part of a continuing effort to malign RSS by false propaganda
upon absolutely cooked up charges. We believe that if a complaint is filed by
any person in this regard, the same shall be investigated as per law and the
truth shall come out.
