development camp for Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Uttar Tamilnadu concluded on May 18
in Ambattur. Uniform clad sevikas
marched to the drum beats along the main streets of Ambattur. Sevikas
demonstrated yoga, karate, danda (silambam) lazim, vyayam yog etc.

Karyavahika gave a brief speech about Samiti and its role in the society at the
end of the route march. Shri. Narayana Swamy, Trustee, Anandam old age home
presided over the function. Smt.Radha Chandramouli Kanchi Prantha Karyavahika welcomed

B.E, Ph.D, Principal, Meenakshi Sundarrajan Engineering college was the Chief
guest. In her address, she stressed the need of education and holistic
development for girls. She said that the demonstrations of sevikas gave her
immense happiness and hope about girls and women against her worry when women
wasted their precious time watching serials. Smt. Latha Rajan, Upakshetra Saha
Karyavahika in her special address appealed to everybody to realize their
individual and social responsibilities and to contribute selflessly towards
revitalizing our great Bharat. Women and girls have to protect themselves and must
be aware of the negative and detrimental forces. Smt. Charumathi Ashok, Vibhag
Karyavahika presented the Camp report. Smt. Vidhya Sridhar, Chennai Mahanagar
Karyavahika proposed the vote of thanks.
