Annual 15 day Rashtra
Sevika Samiti, first year (Pravesha) varg of Uttar Tamilnadu
began today in Chennai. Smt Charumathi Ashok welcomed the gathering. Smt Rama Manian, Chief guest inaugurated the varga
by lighting up of lamp.
Smt Dharani,
former Principal of Vivekananda Vidyalaya Ambattur spoke on the occasion.
Quoting the inspirations from the life on Jijabai, Saradadevi, Sumithra
(Ramayana) she appealed to the shikshaartis to make their mind that they have the
‘will’ to serve the society. Smt Gomathi
Navin, Upkshetra Karyavaahika, spoke in
length about the greatness of women in Bharat—their motherhood, duty, bravery
etc. Samiti shakas can be seen in 24
countries. In India, there are around
1132 shakas. In Tamilnadu, there are 112
Samiti shakas. In this varga, 108 girls
are participating. Akhila Bharatha Ghosh Pramuk and Jammu-Kashmir Prachaarika
Pankajam Akka, Smt Kamala Motilal, former Sanchaalika, Smt Akhila, Upa-kshetra
Sanchaalika, Smt Radha Chandramouli, Kanchi Prant Karyavaahika, Smt Padma
Rangan and other prant adhikaris were present to guide the camp.
