RSS Curtain Raiser Press Meet of ABPS 2015 Meet at Nagpur

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) strongly favours imparting education at primary level through mother tongue and would pass a resolution to this effect in its three-day annual meeting of its highest decision making body Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at Nagpur.

This was disclosed by Dr Manmohan Vaidya, All India Prachar Pramukh of RSS at a press conference held on the eve of the ABPS meeting slated to begin from March 13 at Dr Hedgewar Smriti Mandir premises in Reshambag, Nagpur.

Vaidya said that the ill-effects of education through English medium at the primary level and too much importance attached to that language have come to the fore. Many of educationists have strongly recommended that primary education be imparted through mother tongue only for ensuring all round development of the pupils.

The ABPS also likely to pass another resolution related to spreading the message of equality, awareness and peace amongst the masses on the occasion of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. 

Dr Vaidya said that the RSS would like to congratulate the UN for conceding to observe International Yoga Day on June 21.

The meeting to be continued till March 15, will be attended by 1400 elected representatives drawn from all over the country besides the office-bearers of 35 major organizations owing allegiance to RSS ideology. The activities undertaken by various state units and these organizations would be presented to the ABPS during the meeting.

The ABPS will also discuss the plans to take the message of one temple, one water source and one crematorium per village to ensure equality, fraternity and liberty in the rural life. This was suggested by the RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat a couple of years ago.

Dr Vaidya said that some experiments in this direction were undertaken in Bihar and other provinces which have yielded very positive and encouraging results.

The meeting will also discuss the ‘Sangh Vistar Yojana’ which bore very good results in states like Assam and North Karnataka. Plans to consolidate these gains would also be deliberated upon, he said.

There has been considerable increase in number of shakhas as compared to last year, Dr Vaidya said adding that the number of shakha places was 43000 in 2012 and that has gone up to 55000 in 2015, thus registering a 18 per cent growth. “This shows the growing acceptability of RSS work and favourable atmosphere for the Sangh thought”, he said.

He stated that the number of Sangh visitors on internet has registered an upward trend in last couple of years. For such ‘swayamsevaks’ the Sangh has arranged ‘Sangh Parichay Varg’ in different places. Two such programs were held for journalists in Pune and Kolkata which evoked a very good response, he added.

This ABPS will be electing the new Sarkaryawah either on March 14 evening or next day for a period of three years.
