A reassuring middle class trend, thanks to RSS

One by one, middle class families of Chennai seem to take RSS help to reach educational help to the needy children in and around Chennai.  This was evidenced at a function to disburse help to school and college students both boys and girls.  The function was held in the State RSS Head Quarters 'Sakthi Karyalaya' on November 22, 2014 organized by Dr.Hedgewar Smarak Samiti, Madhava Seva Samiti, and Samooga Seva Nidhi, Tamilnadu jointly.

It all started ten years back when the sons of the retired railway official entrusting 'Dr.Hedgewar Smarak Samiti' an RSS affiliate with the task of selecting needy candidates.  The family of the railway official had deposited a tidy sum, being the retirement benefits of the official with the trust for this purpose.  For the last two years a family each added its own mite to this charity.

Sri Rabu Manohar, leading lawyer and Central Chennai District President, Seva Bharati presided over the function.  He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, 'the only weapon to eradicate poverty is education'.  It is to be noted that most of the 40 beneficiaries are children of daily wage earners.
Sri K E Srinivasan, Chennai Vibhag Seva Pramuk, RSS highlighted that 'education is not for self; but for nation'.  Sri S S Narayanan and Sri Durai Shankar, Vibhag Sanghachalak were present. Scholarship assistance was given to the students by all Sangh adhikaris present.
