The samanvaya baithak of RSS was held in New Delhi on September 8 and 9. Prior to the Baithak, the curious Press published all kinds of things about the agenda of the meet. Normally there used to be no press briefing for such a baithak. But considering the confusion that media reports caused, Dr. Manmohan Vaidya, the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS held a press briefing on September 7 at New Delhi, wherein he made it clear that he would not answer all questions as it was not a press conference. But he said he would tell what the baithak is about, what it would discuss, what it would not, etc. He said: “This is a routine meet of the Sangh. Prominent workers active in several organisations come together for 3 or 4 days in September and January every year. The dates of this meet were fixed in March at our Jaipur meet. The upcoming meet will be at Hyderabad and that schedule too was finalized already. But the size of this meet became a little big as it was thought that, considering the changing situation in the country, more persons need to be included in the deliberations at this meet. Previously 25 workers from12-13 organizations were attending this meet. Today 65 persons are attending. 25 office bearers of RSS, 12 workers of BJP and prominent workers from 12 other organizations are there. Organizations’ working in several fields have their own readings about society; they have inputs on the goings on in their respective fields. They come together for an exchange of notes and sharing of views on all those things and that will be the main agenda of this meet. Things pertaining to agriculture, economy, national security and society will be discussed. What is being done in each of these fields, what needs to be done and what could be done – these aspects will be covered at this meet. Workers active in several fields for years will present their views. This meet was slated to be held on October 3 and 4. Since considerable number of BJP workers are attending, the dates were preponed to September 8 and 9, following the extension of the parliament session.”
Of course, Dr. Manmohan Vaidya answered questions. In reply to a question he said there will be no discussion on the current political scenario in the country.
Question: “Are the BJP Chief Minsters participating in this meet?”
Answer: “Shri Narendra Modi is a member of the Parliamentary Board of BJP, so he is attending . not others.”
Question: “Will there be a discussion about a person who could provide good political leadership to the country?”
Answer: “Day in and day out it is being discussed and so this meet will not discuss it.”
Question: “Why only political issue is avoided?”
Answer: “Because it is the decision of Sangh”.
Question: “How can an alternative solution for the problems be found by Sangh without deliberating on politics?”
Answer: “Elections are round the corner. People will have to find out the alternative. The party is readying for it. It has the support of all. Thus the discussion on alternative has proceeded far ahead and so no discussion on an alternative in this Baithak”.
