Zero tolerance to terrorism urges Sri L K Advani

Sri Ramesh, a Swayamsevak and BJP State Leader was brutally murdered on 19th July, 2013 at Maravaneri, Salem. For the first time, various leaders, cutting across party, caste and other affiliations, have strongly condemned the murder. Tamil Nadu is witnessing attacks/murders of Hindu leaders for the past several decades.

Sri L K Advani addressing the gathering
On 1st August, Sri L K Advani senior BJP leader came down to Salem to participate in Shraddhanjali to Auditor Ramesh and spent about an hour with the family members of Ramesh. Addressing a gathering of around 12,000 people at Jawahar Mill Grounds he said, “BJP is determined to provide good governance as it has zero tolerance to terrorism, violence and corruption...”

“Ramesh was a good person with no known enemies. He was a patriot who loved his country and worked for it. BJP has had a bloody past with several of our leaders murdered by rival groups. The governments have, however, remained mute to such attacks and not taken any preventive measures so far”. He wondered why anti-national elements should target BJP and sangh parivar functionaries.
He welcomed the decision to form a SID and urged the CM to arrest the accused as early as possible.

In the meeting Tamil Nadu BJP state president Pon Radhakrishnan said, “Dr Aravind Reddy in Vellore was hacked to death by an unknown gang. The murder was planned in a prison and police didn't probe into that matter. Instead, they have arrested someone but not the actual accused. The Tamil Nadu Police has to come out with proper explanation.” He also alleged the murders were due to mistakes committed by police.

In the wake of Advani’s arrival to Salem on 1st August, SID arrested 5 persons at Melapalayam in Tirunalveli District, namely Tasim, Katta Shahul, Kutty alias Noorul Hameed, Samsu and Bismi on 29th July. SID has also seized 17 kgs of explosives and 141 electric detonators from a house at Melapalayam. Raids were also conducted by a 20 member team and they seized a few documents and photographs. SID has also released one more photo named Siddique.

Stop Lotus Channel immediately and say publicly sorry to Islamic society". The letter further threatened to kill 12 Sangh Parivar leaders.

On July 19th a PIL was filed by T.Manoharan of Nangavalli in Salem district demanding to transfer investigation from the SID to CBI for the investigation to be fair, free and effective. The petition further stated that with the assistance of other national investigating agencies, the CBI alone would be able to unearth the truth behind the murder.
