Veteran Journalist and Secretary General passed away in New Delhi


Veteran journalist and Secretary General of ANTAR RASHTRIYA SAHYOG PARISHAD died today in New Delhi.The Cremation ceremony will take place at Nigam Bodh Ghat New Delhi at 4.30 PM.


Shri Baleshwar Agrawal, born on 17th July 1921at Balasore ( Orissa ), graduated in Engineering from Banaras Hindu University in 1945 His public life began from 1949-first as Managing Director, Chandragupta Prakashan Ltd., It was in early1951 that he was called upon to take up the challenging task of establishing Hindustan Samachar, a multi lingual National news agency. He began his journalistic career from Patna and established the centre in four years. It was during this period that he came in close contact with Nepal and which he had maintained even now.It was during this period that Shri. Baleshwar Agarwal was entrusted a responsibility of a new organisation Antar-Rashtiya Sahayog Parishad,Shri Baleshwar Agrawal, during the last 50 years has been able to develop personal contacts with various countries particularly Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Srilanka besides Burma, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Fiji, South Africa, Mauritius, Kenya, Netherlands, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica etc.Several Prime Ministers, Speakers, Parliament Members are personally very well known to him.Shri Baleshwar Agrawal did the excellent job of connecting budding language journalists and his determination and dedication to cause and hoped the younger generation of journalists and social activists would emulate his example.
