A Buddhist Monk ends his life against cow slaughter

Hindus are shocked at the news when a young Buddhist monk Indra Ratna Therar immolated himself at Kandy, a traditional site of Buddhist in Sri Lanka. Various organizations including Podu Bala Sena has strongly appealed to the Government that the Government should immediately ban cow slaughter and should take strong measures in curbing Islamic terrorism, conversions activities in the country within three months from the death of Buddhist monk.

பசுக்கள் வெட்டப்படுவதை உடனடியாக நிறுத்தப்பட வேண்டும் எனக்கோரி இந்திரரத்ன தேரர் என்ற 30 வயது இளம் பௌத்த பிக்கு ஒருவர் கடந்த மே 24 அன்று தீக்குளித்தார். பாரம்பரியமிக்க பௌத்த புனிதத்தலமான கண்டி தலதா மாளிகையின் முன்னால் பௌத்தர்களின் விசேஷ தினமான வெசாக் உற்சவ தினத்தன்று ஜன நெரிசல் மிகுந்த காலை 11 மணிக்கு இச்சம்பவம் இடம்பெற்றது. தீயில் கருகிய இந்திரரத்ன தேரர் சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி 25ம் திகதியன்று மரணமடைந்தார். 

தீக்குளித்த நேரத்தில் பசுவதையை உடனடியாக தடை செய்யவேண்டும் என்று திரும்ப திரும்ப குரல் எழுப்பியுள்ளார். இதனிடையே இவரது மறைவு பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது. 

இந்நிலையில் பொதுபலசேன உள்ளிட்ட அமைப்புகள் மதமாற்றம்,பசுவதை,இஸ்லாமிய பயங்கரவாதம் உள்ளிட்ட விஷயங்களுக்கெதிராக அரசு கடும் நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்கவேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளன. மறைந்த தேரரின் 3மாத நினைவு தினத்திற்குள் பாராளுமன்றத்தில் இது தொடர்பான பிரேரணையை நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டும் என்றும் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர் .
