Mahakavi Bharathiyar, a great patriot, iconoclastic reformer lived in Thiruvallikeni, Chennai. Bharathiyar’s (revolutionist) jayanthi was celebrated as Vishesha Shanghik of Thiruvallikkeni Bhag, South Chennai on 11.12.2011. 74 tharunas, 9 Thaimargal, 1 Bala and 3 Sisus participated in the Vishesha Sanghik. Sri RBVS Manianji, State Vice President of VHP addressed on "Hindukkalukku Mahakavi Bharathiyarin Arivurai". After Vishesha Shanghik all were went to Bharathiyar Illam as a procession. During procession Bharathiyar songs were sung by the Soundariya Ratnamala Group, which was witnessed by the locals.
