A SWAYAMSEVAK’S FAMILY ROUTINE STARTS FROM 3.00 A.M. DAILY DURING THE LOCKOUT PERIOD

Sri Rajkumar is a Swayamsevak of Moolakadai area of Chennai. He is involved in arranging local/national/international tours. His entire business has been affected due to lockout and he is apprehensive that it may take atleast another six months for his business to come to normalcy. The reason is that even if the lockout period is relaxed people will not be willing to go on travel due to fear of Corona. Though his business has been badly affected his spirit of serving has soared high not only for himself but for his entire family members.

The family’s routine has completely changed during the lockout period. Sri Rajkumar and his wife get up at 3.00 a.m., daily and starts cooking food for distributing it to the conservative workers who are asked to assemble in the Corporation office in their locality by 6.30 a.m. Since they have to be there by 6.30 a.m., they could not eat anything in their homes and there are no hotels/roadside eateries. So, Sri Rajkumar’s family cooks tiffin for them and his daughter, son and his brother’s family members are engaged in packing it and deliver it to the conservative workers by 6.30 a.m. In the meantime, again cooking starts for the sending tiffin and lunch pockets to the nurses in the nearby Government hospital. This is followed by cooking food for the afternoon for distributing food pockets to the nearby slum dwellers who have no other means of earning their livelihood. The entire family members are so happy to serve the society though the work is so strenuous without much rest. Sri Rajkumar has expressed that God has given their family an opportunity to serve the society and that all of them are undergoing an unforgettable experience by preparing around 150 food pockets daily for the eighteen days continuously.
