Leading simple life will eliminate corruption - Hon'ble Governor at Sevabharati event

The 20th year celebration of Sevabharathi Tamilnadu was held at Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chennai on 19th October 2019. 

Hon'ble Governor of Tamilnadu Shri. Banwarilal Purohit was the Chief Guest. Speaking at the occasion Hon'ble Governor said, 
Sevabharathi Tamilnadu has been doing very good service in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Disaster relief and Rehabilitation. He also said that during Gaja cyclone he personally witnessed the services rendered by the volunteers of Sevabharathi. He opined that, if everyone leads a simple life, there won't be corruption anywhere. Also he said that, Vasudaiva Kudumbakam, is the driving force of our history and we must cultivate habit to serve others. Hon'ble Governor also expressed his love towards Tamil language and marked that Tamil is a wonderful language and he wishes to learn it. 

Holiness Swami Mitrananda Ji, Acharya - Chinmaya Mission blessed the audience. In his address Swamiji said "Tamilnadu should be extremely grateful to Sevabharati for its excellent service during 2004 Tsunami and that their service during Tsunami helped the state avert an epidemic. He explained how phenomenal positive changes have happened in society through services of of Ramakrishna Mission, Vivekananda Kendra, ISHA, Amirthanandamayi Foundation, Art of Living, Sanga Parivar, Chinmaya Mission etc. He stressed on the skill development for youth, by which the individual and also the nation can benefit. 

Shri. K.Padmakumar - South India Seva Pramuk RSS in his Key note address said that Tamilnadu is a land of spirituality and service. He said that many great people have born in this state. He said that over 1,75,000 seva projects are happening across Tamilnadu. He also gave examples of few people who were from weaker section and went on to reach greater heights in life with the help of Sevabharati 

Shri. R. Shiva who has been doing wonderful service for leprosy patients and Shri. R. Rajendiran who has been running a home to take care of mentally challenged students were honoured with Sevaratna award and it was presented by His Excellency, Hon'ble Governor of Tamilnadu Shri. Banwarilal Purohit. 

More than 1000 members including Donors, Office bearers, Volunteers of Sevabharati, other service organisations attended the gathering. The programme started with Tamilthai Vaazthu and ended with National Anthem
