“Today is the auspicious day of ‘Aadi Perrukku, being a day when River Cauvery flows to her brim and Hindus worship her. Similarly RSS should multiply its strength manifold, because it is a belief that whatever work is done today gives multiplied results".
“Because of wrong perception there may be some misconceptions of the activities of RSS. In my own experience, I have seen the dedicated service of the great and eminent people of RSS during pre-independence and also in post-independence days. This is because of Samarpana Bhava before Bhagwa Dhwaj. Bhagwa Dhwaj being saffron in colour denotes renunciation and sacrifice. Saffron represents the culture of our country. The colour of fire in Yagnas is also saffron... We need to strengthen the organisation.”
Sri Jayant Sahasrabuddhe, National Organising Secretary, Vijnana Bharati, in his key note (bouddhik) address enlightened the audience about the importance of Guru Puja which is a unique tradition of Bharat followed over thousands of years. He further said, “Dhwaj being a symbol, does not speak by itself, but makes others speak. It transports knowledge without uttering a word. The goal of RSS is ‘Param Vaibhavam’—taking Bharat to the pinnacle of glory. Dhwaj guides us in overcoming all the challenges by Samarpana Bhava. RSS is a movement of national reconstruction..”
Shri Ramkumar, South Chennai Jilla Sanghachalak welcomed the gathering. Sri Palakkad Sreeram, noted Cine playback Singer, rendered invocation song.
Sri Srikanthan, Jilla Sah Karyavah, thanked the management of Sri Ramakrishna Mission Matriculation School whose Infosys hall was the venue of the function. Prof. Subbaiah Ji, Vibhag Sah Sanghachalak, was present. Above 700 prominent persons from various walks of life attended the Guru Puja and performed Guru Puja to Bhagwa Dhwaj.
