A case of Love Jihad in reverse
A 61 year old dalit man Nallayan was burnt to death in Periyapatti Village of Namakkal District after his son Sekhar (27) eloped with a Muslim girl Gulzar (21) of the same village. When Nallayan was working in a shop in Periyapatti, Gulzar's father Shahjahan allegedly went into an argument, at last poured petrol over Nallayan and ensued in death. A FIR was lodged against Shahjahan under section 307 vide crime no.311 of 2011 in Namakkal District.
Alert Hindus save Go-mata
On 27-2-2011, in Thiruvenkadu, in Kumbakonam of Thanjavur Distriict, 50 cows were donated to the ancient temple. Of these, around 15 cows were being taken to the slaughter house after being auctioned by authorities of the temple administered by atheist State Government. Shri Baalu, a retired V.A.O of that village gathered local people and saw to it that the cows were saved. For that, he organized a quick dharna by villagers. He further handed over the lorry with cow to the police. FIR was filed against those who tried to butcher the cows and action was initiated. Mr. Baalu does not belong to any organization. He is just a regular reader of 'Dharma Sakthi', one of tamil weekly run for the protection of cows. Soon the issue snowballed into a major protest with Hindu Munnani assuming the leadership of the villagers in saving Go-mata.
Meanwhile, on 1-3-2011 reports from Madurai say that miscreants threw head of a calf into the premises of the RSS Jilla Karyalaya there. Police are investigating.
